I work one-on-one with clients to support them to live with greater clarity, ease, passion and purpose. My coaching is informed by the practice of positive psychology. This is a newer branch of psychology founded on the belief that mental health is not merely the absence of mental illness, but rather a positive state of mental wellness capitalizing on human strengths and intentional behaviors.
This coaching offering includes: compassionate listening and holding space for clients to process daily thoughts and emotions, assessing individual values and goals, working with the inner critic and self limiting beliefs, identifying character strengths, strengthening emotional regulation skills, improving psychological resilience and designing a personal happiness and well-being plan backed by scientific interventions.
Grief is a universal human experience. Where there is love and loss, there is grief. Grief is about painful loss, not only death. We grieve breakups, divorce, a diagnosis for a loved one or ourselves, a layoff, pet loss, moving and more.
We live in a largely grief illiterate society; we aren't taught coping skills for ourselves or what to say or do to support others in grief. There is no one right way to grieve, but there are things that can help.
As a Certified Grief Educator, and someone who has personally grieved, I have the compassion, expertise and experience to meet you where you are, and help you navigate your grief.
Getting enough quality sleep is crucial for our overall physical and mental well-being. Yet, 1 in 3 adults worldwide don't get the healthy sleep they need due to insomnia symptoms including: inability to fall asleep, stay asleep or get good quality sleep.
In my Sleep Coaching offering, I leverage my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) which is a clinically proven treatment to improve sleep quality and quantity. CBT-I focuses on restructuring the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are contributing to your sleep difficulties.
Mindfulness teaches psychological tools and techniques that enable us to be aware and present in our lives rather than overly reactive or overwhelmed by everyday events. The concepts and practices (including meditations) allow us to respond to life’s pain and stresses in a way that's more skillful and compassionate to ourselves and those around us. If you are interested, mindfulness strategies can be incorporated in any of my coaching offerings.
One of the greatest findings in psychology is that people have the ability to choose one thought over another. Through examining negative thought patterns, we'll work to get you "unstuck" and re-wire your thinking towards more realistic and emotionally healthy thoughts that serve you better. CBT tools are helpful in all of my coaching offerings. For Sleep Coaching, CBT-I is the protocol I employ as it provides specific methods to radically improve sleep.
Philosophers and deep thinkers have long pondered the meaning of life and the question of happiness. Today, the most popular classes at Yale, Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania teach the new science of happiness and positive psychology. I'll teach you the practices and habits researchers have found can make us truly flourish in my "Happiness 101" program which is a part of my Mental Fitness Coaching, and is often requested by Grief Coaching clients who are farther along on their journey and wondering "what's next?"
